Evening Turndown Housekeeper – Immediate Start

You'll turn rooms around at a conference hotel in Atlantis so every guest walks into a room that feels new. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll report in Atlantis. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included

• Well groomed
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Grade 10 or matric
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift

• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate
• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
• Speaking a foreign language for tourist guests

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges

• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
