Evening Turndown Housekeeper

You'll turn rooms around at a conference hotel in Epping so every guest walks into a room that feels new. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Location: Epping, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date

• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Well groomed
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Grade 10 or matric

• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate
• Experience with industrial laundry machines
• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience

• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Uniform supplied and laundered

• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
