Evening Turndown Housekeeper

Guests at a boutique guesthouse in George will never meet you, but they will judge the stay by your work. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is George-based, with most of your time spent at a boutique guesthouse. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day

• Well groomed
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses

• Experience with industrial laundry machines
• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate

• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Uniform supplied and laundered

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
