Evening Turndown Housekeeper

Guests at a boutique guesthouse in Mokopane will never meet you, but they will judge the stay by your work. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a boutique guesthouse in Mokopane. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date

• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Grade 10 or matric

• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Uniform supplied and laundered

• If you worked in a star-graded hotel, say which grading. It tells them the standard you already know.
• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
