Evening Turndown Housekeeper

Guests at a beachfront holiday resort in Pretoria East will never meet you, but they will judge the stay by your work. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a beachfront holiday resort on the Pretoria East side of Gauteng.

• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers

• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Well groomed
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses

• Experience with industrial laundry machines
• Speaking a foreign language for tourist guests

• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Share of the service charge or guest tips

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
