Job Description

Handy with a drill, a paintbrush and a tap washer? The retirement village in Brackenfell has a list waiting for you. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Location: Brackenfell, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

What you'll actually do

Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used

You'll need

Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
Available for the occasional weekend emergency

Helpful, not essential

Basic first aid certificate
Gate motor and intercom repair skills
Experience with a work order system on a phone app

On offer

Uniform and safety boots supplied
Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
On-site accommodation at some estates
Meals on duty at hotel sites
