Facilities Maintenance Handyman (Office Park)

You'll fix what breaks and prevent what might, around the city hotel in Mokopane. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Mokopane (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants

• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store

• Pool and borehole pump experience
• Gate motor and intercom repair skills

• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Meals on duty at hotel sites

• Write your CV as a skills list first: painting, tiling, plumbing, gate motors, pools. Managers scan for the skills their site needs.
• Do not claim electrical work you are not licensed to sign off. Say "basic electrical, no DB work" instead.
