Facilities Maintenance Handyman (Office Park)

You'll fix what breaks and prevent what might, around the private school in Pretoria West. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Pretoria West-based, with most of your time spent at a private school.

• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist
• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails
• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant

• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store

• Basic first aid certificate
• Gate motor and intercom repair skills

• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• On-site accommodation at some estates
