Factory Hand (Bottling Plant) – Entry Level

Good factory hands stay for years, and this plastic moulding plant in Germiston trains from day one. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Germiston-based, with most of your time spent at a plastic moulding plant. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages

• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection

• Some basic first-aid training
• A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate

• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Company transport on some night shifts

• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
