Factory Hand (Bottling Plant)

Machines set the pace at this snack food factory in Pretoria East; you keep up and catch the faults. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll report in Pretoria East. Relocation is not covered for this one. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley

• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection

• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine

• Company transport on some night shifts
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Staff shop with discounted factory products

• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
