Job Description

You'll keep the line running at a soft drink bottling plant in Somerset West, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is Somerset West-based, with most of your time spent at a soft drink bottling plant.

The work, day to day

Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line

What you need

Available for rotating day and night shifts
Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection

Nice if you have

NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate
