Job Description

You'll keep the line running at a plastic moulding plant in Soweto, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Soweto. Relocation is not covered for this one.

What your day looks like

Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run

Must-haves

Available for rotating day and night shifts
Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
You follow hygiene rules without being reminded

Nice if you have

Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
