Job Description

A personal injury and medical negligence firm in Durban Central needs an attorney who can draft, advise and stand up in court. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Durban Central. Relocation is not covered for this one.

What your day looks like

Appear in the magistrate's court, CCMA, Labour Court or High Court as your matters need
Record billable time and hit the monthly target
Track legislation changes that affect clients' businesses
Advise clients on risk, settlement and next steps in plain language
Keep trust account instructions and fee notes accurate

Must-haves

Strong drafting and legal research
Enrolled with the Legal Practice Council and holding a current Fidelity Fund certificate if you handle trust money
At least 2 years of post-admission experience in the relevant field
LLB and admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa

Nice if you have

Experience on bank or insurer panels
Existing client following
