Job Description

Animals do not take weekends off, and a cattle feedlot near Ballito needs caring, reliable hands. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a cattle feedlot on the Ballito side of KwaZulu-Natal. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Keep water troughs and drinkers working
Move animals between camps or pens calmly
Follow biosecurity rules like foot baths and clean overalls
Milk cows in the parlour following the milking routine
Clean pens, houses and milking equipment
Record births, deaths and treatments in the herd book
Collect eggs or check broiler house temperatures

What you need

South African ID or a legal work permit
Reliable, since animals depend on you
Follows hygiene and biosecurity rules
Comfortable around large animals

Helpful, not essential

Supervisory experience for foreman roles
Animal health or AgriSETA short course
