Job Description

If you like working with animals, a broiler chicken farm near Brackenfell has steady, long-term work. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a broiler chicken farm on the Brackenfell side of Western Cape.

The work, day to day

Collect eggs or check broiler house temperatures
Record births, deaths and treatments in the herd book
Clean pens, houses and milking equipment
Feed animals the right ration at the right time
Follow biosecurity rules like foot baths and clean overalls
Keep water troughs and drinkers working
Move animals between camps or pens calmly

Must-haves

Able to live on the farm or close by
Follows hygiene and biosecurity rules
Comfortable around large animals
Gentle and patient with animals

Nice if you have

Previous dairy or livestock experience
Supervisory experience for foreman roles
