Job Description

Packing season at a citrus packhouse near Paarl means lots of shifts and lots of work. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The work is in Paarl, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery
Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
Build pallets to the correct height and strap them

What you need

Arrives on time for early shifts
Quick and neat with your hands
Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
Able to stand at a line for long shifts
Basic counting and reading for labels

Helpful, not essential

Previous packhouse work
Forklift licence for palletising roles
Matric for QC posts

On offer

Overtime pay during peak weeks
Transport from nearby towns
Protective clothing supplied
Rehire for next season if you perform well
