Farm Foreman (Livestock)

Healthy animals mean a healthy farm; on a broiler chicken farm near Epping, you keep them that way. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The work is in Epping, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Help the vet with vaccinations and treatments
• Feed animals the right ration at the right time
• Follow biosecurity rules like foot baths and clean overalls
• Check animals for illness or injury and report to the manager
• Clean pens, houses and milking equipment
• Move animals between camps or pens calmly
• Keep water troughs and drinkers working

• Follows hygiene and biosecurity rules
• Reliable, since animals depend on you
• Able to live on the farm or close by
• Willing to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays on rotation
• South African ID or a legal work permit

• Previous dairy or livestock experience
• Supervisory experience for foreman roles

• Production bonus on milk yield or growth targets
• Training in animal health
• Milk or meat rations

• Stress reliability. Explain that you understand milking or feeding cannot be skipped.
• For foreman roles, mention how many workers you supervised and what you were in charge of.
