Farm Foreman (Livestock)

If you like working with animals, a dairy farm near Pinetown has steady, long-term work. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is Pinetown-based, with most of your time spent at a dairy farm. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Clean pens, houses and milking equipment
• Record births, deaths and treatments in the herd book
• Help the vet with vaccinations and treatments
• Move animals between camps or pens calmly
• Feed animals the right ration at the right time
• Check animals for illness or injury and report to the manager

• Follows hygiene and biosecurity rules
• Comfortable around large animals
• Able to live on the farm or close by
• South African ID or a legal work permit
• Willing to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays on rotation

• Farm housing on site
• Training in animal health
• Production bonus on milk yield or growth targets

• Say which animals you have worked with and for how long. Farmers want someone who already knows the routine.
• For foreman roles, mention how many workers you supervised and what you were in charge of.
