Finance Manager (SME) – Permanent

An audit and advisory firm in Epping needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is an audit and advisory firm on the Epping side of Western Cape. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items

• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased

• Power BI or a similar BI tool
• Completed articles at an audit firm

• Hybrid schedule outside month-end week
• Paid professional body membership fees
• Study assistance for board exams
