Finance Manager (SME)

Month-end, year-end and audit prep all run through you at a mid-sized manufacturing group in Paarl. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Paarl; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary

• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• Consolidation experience across several companies
• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
