Financial Accountant (Manufacturing) – Immediate Start

Your reports shape real decisions at this national retail chain head office in Brackenfell, so they must be right. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Brackenfell-based, with most of your time spent at a national retail chain head office. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased

• Consolidation experience across several companies
• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
• Completed articles at an audit firm
