Financial Accountant (Manufacturing)

An audit and advisory firm in Mahikeng needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The site is in Mahikeng; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items

• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
