Job Description

You'll run the site day to day for the road and stormwater contractor in Brackenfell, from setting out to handover. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is a road and stormwater contractor on the Brackenfell side of Western Cape. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Set out foundations, grid lines and levels with the surveyor or a dumpy level
Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date
Chair the weekly site meeting and record actions for the principal agent
Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection
Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
Draw up snag lists and close them out before practical completion

Must-haves

Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool
At least 5 years on building or civil sites, 2 of them in a supervisory post
Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act

Extra points for

Experience on JBCC or GCC 2015 contracts
Worked on CIDB grade 6 or higher projects
