Finishing Foreman (Fit-Out & Snagging)

You'll run the site day to day for the road and stormwater contractor in East London, from setting out to handover. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in East London. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Check workmanship against drawings, specifications and SANS 10400
• Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date
• Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
• Set out foundations, grid lines and levels with the surveyor or a dumpy level
• Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
• Chair the weekly site meeting and record actions for the principal agent
• Draw up snag lists and close them out before practical completion

• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites

• Worked on CIDB grade 6 or higher projects
• Surveying skills with a total station
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Manager or Candidate

• Site accommodation on out-of-town projects
• Project completion bonus linked to handover date
• Cellphone and laptop supplied
