Job Description

You'll keep machines, conveyors and shafts running at the iron ore mine maintenance workshop near Middelburg (MP). If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Middelburg (MP), Mpumalanga, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What your day looks like

Carry out planned maintenance on loaders, drill rigs and utility vehicles
Repair and align conveyor belt drives, pulleys and idlers
Maintain pumps, fans and compressors in shafts and on surface
Isolate and lock out machines under the site isolation procedure
Order spares and track them through the engineering store

What you need

Certificate of fitness for underground or surface work
Trade test certificate in your trade (diesel mechanic, fitter, electrician, boilermaker, instrumentation or rigger)
At least 2 years as a qualified artisan, preferably on a mine
Willing to do standby and call-outs on a roster

Nice if you have

Government Certificate of Competency studies in progress
SAP PM module experience
Flameproof equipment training for coal mines
