Fixed Asset Accountant (Mining)

You'll own the monthly numbers for a mid-sized manufacturing group in Brits, from journals to the management pack. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a mid-sized manufacturing group in Brits. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission

• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One

• Consolidation experience across several companies
• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
