Fixed Asset Accountant (Mining)

A logistics company in Mossel Bay needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The site is in Mossel Bay; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups

• Completed articles at an audit firm
• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
