Fixed Asset Accountant (Mining)

You'll own the monthly numbers for an agricultural co-operative in Potchefstroom, from journals to the management pack. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is an agricultural co-operative on the Potchefstroom side of North West.

• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries

• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups

• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
