Fleet Administrator (Licences and Services)

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a courier operations centre in Midrand. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is in Midrand (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Update customers on delivery times and delays
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles

• Good with Excel and email
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• Calm and decisive when things go wrong
• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations

• Experience on a vehicle telematics platform
• Knowledge of cross-border documentation
• Logistics or supply chain certificate

• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Office-based work with a steady roster

• Mention the tracking and Excel skills you have. Bring an example report if you are allowed to share one.
• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
