Fleet Administrator (Licences and Services)

Behind every truck on the road is a controller; at a courier operations centre in Rosslyn, that could be you. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a courier operations centre in Rosslyn. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics

• Good with Excel and email
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
• Calm and decisive when things go wrong

• Previous truck driving experience
• Logistics or supply chain certificate

• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Growth to transport manager
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems

• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
• Mention the tracking and Excel skills you have. Bring an example report if you are allowed to share one.
