Fleet Tracking Controller (Night Shift)

Get off the road and into the control office at a road freight company in Bellville. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Bellville-based, with most of your time spent at a road freight company. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers

• Matric
• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office

• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems

• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
