Fleet Tracking Controller (Night Shift) – Permanent

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a distribution depot in Montague Gardens. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a distribution depot in Montague Gardens. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers

• Calm and decisive when things go wrong
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• Matric
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations

• Previous truck driving experience
• Knowledge of cross-border documentation

• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Growth to transport manager
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems

• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
