Fleet Tracking Controller (Night Shift)

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a distribution depot in Pinetown. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is in Pinetown (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests

• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Calm and decisive when things go wrong
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers

• Previous truck driving experience
• Experience on a vehicle telematics platform

• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Growth to transport manager
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts

• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
• Mention the tracking and Excel skills you have. Bring an example report if you are allowed to share one.
