Fleet Tracking Controller (Night Shift)

Get off the road and into the control office at a bus and coach operator in Pretoria East. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll report in Pretoria East. Relocation is not covered for this one. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Update customers on delivery times and delays
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route

• Good with Excel and email
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• Matric
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers

• Transport management system (TMS) experience
• Previous truck driving experience

• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Growth to transport manager
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts

• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
