Flotation Operator (Platinum Concentrator)

You'll run the crushers, mills and cells that turn ore into product at the coal washing plant near Kathu. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Kathu-based, with most of your time spent at a coal washing plant. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Take samples at set times and bring them to the lab
• Log plant readings and downtime on the shift log
• Check pumps, cyclones and thickeners on the plant walk
• Clean spillage and keep walkways free of hazards
• Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation
• Call maintenance for bearing noise, belt damage or leaks

• Basic computer skills for SCADA screens and logs
• MQA minerals processing certificate at NQF 2 or higher
• Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE
• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
• At least 1 year operating a processing plant
• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays

• Control room experience
• Laboratory or sampling experience
• Forklift or overhead crane licence
