Job Description

Big machines, long days in season: a fruit orchard near Mahikeng needs a skilled operator. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a fruit orchard on the Mahikeng side of North West. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

The work, day to day

Wash equipment after spraying and store chemicals safely
Hook up and drive ploughs, discs, planters and sprayers
Operate combine harvesters during harvest season
Haul cane, grain or fruit bins from field to shed
Mix and apply sprays exactly as the farm manager prescribes

What you need

Can read job cards and spray instructions
Willing to work long hours in planting and harvest seasons
At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm
Reliable and sober on duty
Available to live on or near the farm
Basic understanding of implements and settings
