Job Description

You'll drive tractors and farm machines on a maize and soya farm near Klerksdorp through planting and harvest. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Home base is a maize and soya farm on the Klerksdorp side of North West.

What you'll actually do

Record hours, fuel and fields worked on the job card
Wash equipment after spraying and store chemicals safely
Haul cane, grain or fruit bins from field to shed
Hook up and drive ploughs, discs, planters and sprayers
Report breakdowns and help the mechanic with repairs
Check oil, water, tyres and grease points before starting

Must-haves

Basic understanding of implements and settings
Can read job cards and spray instructions
Safe driver who respects chemical and machine safety
At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm
Available to live on or near the farm

Nice if you have

Basic mechanical skills
Code 8 or Code 10 licence for road trips
A pesticide application or spray course
