Job Description

Patients and nurses in Mossel Bay rely on this frail care centre being spotless every shift. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Mossel Bay, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What your day looks like

Wear gowns, masks and gloves as each room requires
Mop spills of blood or fluids using the spill kit
Clean theatres between operations to the hospital's turnaround times
Move patients' belongings and equipment when rooms change
Fill in cleaning logs so infection control can audit the ward

You'll need

Able to work shifts including weekends and night duty
Respectful and discreet around patients
Willing to follow strict infection control steps every time
Calm under pressure in busy wards
Not squeamish about blood, vomit or medical waste
Matric or Grade 11

Helpful, not essential

Knowledge of healthcare waste handling rules
Previous hospital or clinic cleaning experience
