Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for an insurance company software team in Randburg. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Randburg. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Write unit and integration tests before you merge

Must-haves

Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Experience writing automated tests
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
