Job Description

A software development house in Brakpan needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll be based at a software development house in Brakpan. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments

Must-haves

Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
