Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: a bank's digital channels team in Durban Central. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Durban Central, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning

You'll need

Experience writing automated tests
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build

Extra points for

Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
