Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: a software development house in Pinetown. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is Pinetown-based, with most of your time spent at a software development house. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language

Must-haves

A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Experience writing automated tests
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people

Extra points for

Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Docker and Kubernetes experience
