Job Description

Patch, monitor, back up and harden systems at a managed services provider in Durban Central. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is Durban Central-based, with most of your time spent at a managed services provider. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

The work, day to day

Document network diagrams and change records
Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills
Work with ISPs on link faults and fibre installs
Monitor servers, links and firewalls and act on alerts
Manage users, groups and conditional access in Entra ID
Plan hardware refreshes and licence renewals with a budget
Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance

You'll need

At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
Clear change management and documentation habits
Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications

Extra points for

Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible
CCNA, Fortinet NSE or MikroTik certification
ISO 27001 audit experience
