General Maintenance Technician (Hotel)

Every day is different here: small repairs, painting and planned maintenance at the residential security estate in Brackenfell. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is Brackenfell-based, with most of your time spent at a residential security estate. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails

• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills

• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Uniform and safety boots supplied

• Write your CV as a skills list first: painting, tiling, plumbing, gate motors, pools. Managers scan for the skills their site needs.
• Do not claim electrical work you are not licensed to sign off. Say "basic electrical, no DB work" instead.
