Multi-Skilled Maintenance Hand (Retirement Village) – Entry Level

You'll fix what breaks and prevent what might, around the shopping centre in Cape Town CBD. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

The work is in Cape Town CBD, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails
• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs

• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency

• Pool and borehole pump experience
• Experience with a work order system on a phone app

• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
