General Maintenance Technician (Hotel)

Every day is different here: small repairs, painting and planned maintenance at the private school in George. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The work is in George, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails

• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must

• Gate motor and intercom repair skills
• Pool and borehole pump experience

• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• On-site accommodation at some estates
