General Maintenance Technician (Hotel)

Handy with a drill, a paintbrush and a tap washer? The shopping centre in Mahikeng has a list waiting for you. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a shopping centre on the Mahikeng side of North West. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used

• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units

• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• On-site accommodation at some estates
