General Maintenance Technician (Hotel)

Handy with a drill, a paintbrush and a tap washer? The city hotel in Sasolburg has a list waiting for you. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a city hotel on the Sasolburg side of Free State. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist
• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails

• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills

• Experience with a work order system on a phone app
• Pool and borehole pump experience
• Gate motor and intercom repair skills

• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• On-site accommodation at some estates
