Geotechnical Engineer (Foundations)

You'll design and supervise infrastructure people use every day, with the structural design practice in Benoni. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll report in Benoni. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
• Chair site meetings and handle contractor queries
• Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software
• Work out loads to SANS 10160 for buildings and structures
• Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts
• Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue
• Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals

• BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering
• At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
• Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
• Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate

• Experience on public sector infrastructure projects
• Registration with SAICE and active CPD
• Master's degree in structural or water engineering
