Grader Operator (Road Construction) – Immediate Start

Real machine hours on real projects, with the road construction contractor working in and around Springs. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll report in Springs. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Record machine hours and fuel on the daily plant sheet
• Grease the machine daily and report leaks or damage straight away
• Cut and trim road layers to level with the grader
• Park the machine on level ground and lock it when you knock off
• Compact layers with the roller until density tests pass
• Do the pre-start checklist on your machine before the first bucket
• Dig trenches for pipes and cables to the depth and grade set by the surveyor

• Operator certificate for the machine class, from an accredited training provider
• Medical certificate of fitness for operating mobile plant
• Can read grade pegs and understand cut and fill
• Willing to work on projects outside your home town

• Overtime paid on all hours past 45 a week
• Refresher training on new machines
• Camp accommodation or a living-out allowance on remote sites
• Travel home paid at the end of each site shift cycle

• You will likely do a practical test on the machine. Do the walk-around check out loud. It shows you work safely.
• List each machine with its size, for example "20-ton excavator, 4 years". Plant managers match you to the machine they need.
